I tried to like it, but I find it incredibly boring, all you do are chores. I don't get why it's so popular. Same with Harvest Moon, Story of Seasons etc. I just don't get what makes them appealing to people.

No, it's boring. It's like a Fisher-Price version of Minecraft, where everyone else is openly an ugly-ass furry.
You're stranded on a strange island, you collect resources from raw materials, you have to craft everything including your tools and crafting table, you build houses, you engage with villagers, you go fishing, you decorate your home, you try on new clothes, you fight spiders at night, you dig for gold and iron, you can travel to neighboring islands, you're constantly taking down trees for their wood, you run from bees, and the gameplay is endless.

So it's Minecraft, just on a dumber scale for normies.

2/10, not recommended.
