    Hi all,

I have a Wii that is both hardmodded and softmodded...

Would a Wode add anything more to the mix?

Is it worth the $90 it costs?

I mean, would I be able to do anything more with my Wii than I can do already?

Also, with a Wode, do you still have to update all the CIOS and stuff?

    Thanks for reading!

I think you can have GC ISO loading with WODE, a massive bonus but maybe not worth as much as $90

WODE is crap and way to expensive. UNEEK DI + UniiLoader + CleanRip + SD-Boot can get the same job done for free without brick risking IOS patching shit and without opening the console.

@wiibricker: for free? Do you have a source where I can download an sd gecko, then*? [IMG]

I'm also not sure how hard it is to install a WODE, but I doubt it'll be harder than uneek (though I do have to agree that it'll be probably more risk-free).

uniiloader is also hard to come by since sorgeling scrapped his project.

@schizoanalysis: gotta agree with previous posters about USB GC loading (even with sd-boot...SD cards generally can't store a whollelotta GC games). Since you already have a hard- and softmod, I doubt the "it's easier to set up" thing is going to make an impression, and loading GC games from USB still has that little streaming audio bug in some games (not sure, but I think sd-boot has it as well). So...I very much doubt it'll be worth your 90 bucks.

*EDIT: I got to be fair: those sd gecko's come at a much lower price than a WODE.

WODE's are brilliant, but the install is a bit fiddly.

    Thanks for the answers!

I didn't see the black one... only the white. Where can the black one be found?

Well since you have a hard and softmod, wode will literally give you as said, gamecube usb loading.
    Who frickin cares about that?
Worth $90? No way Jose! Not when your wii can achieve everything it can already albeit mising gamecube usb loading.

I have never seen the point of wodes. If they were available when modchips were the way to do things it would have been great but alas, they got on the bandwagon after usb loading was already easily acheivable by softmod. And ever since softmodding has gone from strength to strength where others said it would fail. (myself included as used to be an installer and at first, HATED softmodding, probably as I first tried cioscorp, lol)

These days I see absoloutly no point to wii chips of any sort and thankfully haven't had to open a wii in well over a year.

I bet if a GC USB loader was released via Homebrew, you'd be on it like a car bonnet! You gotta be honest with yourself, there are still alot of GC games worth playing. Timesplitters Future Perfect is well worth a rasp

With the mods you already have i'm not sure that there's really that much of an advantage.

I do love my WODE though. It was really easy to install and it's really easy to use. I love the fact that unlike the soft modding I don't have to worry about updates. Unless you use the homebrew channel to change between games. I don't though.

I admit I would like GC usb loading yeah. I loved the GC, had one at the time. In fact even got one now, bought it when I never had my wii and wanted a cheap good console for the boredom. Many good games, Eternal Darkness is still one of my fav games ever.

But would I pay the price of a used wii for that privalege? HELL no!

SDBoot is definately gonna be the way to go on that side of things I think. Then all you need is a gecko, which if you're not scared of messing about can make yourself. I'm holding out until thats all sorted.

Until then, discs will suffice for GC games for me.

Ive got a couple of GC games, but I REALLY would enjoy GC USB loading. I still like having a Fifa Street kickaround with the boys and a few beers. Good, simple fun with a bitchin' soundtrack

I also actually have a hardmodded GC...

So... I'll have to think about the advantages of USB loading on the Wii...

Exactly right panmusic, its being developed for the gamecube but just so happens to work fine in a wii.

You may send me the Links as well and answer one question:
    1. Has sorgeling really scrapped/abandoned this project or was it just banned from GBAtemp due those licensing issues?

He has not abandoned the project as far as I can tell. He want to finish it and then release everything with the source. But it's really hilarious that the GBAtemp staff asked sorg to remove the links to his stuff and keep Multi-Mod-Manager on the site as tueidj proved that MMM contains traces of GPL code, which makes it illegal when distributed without source. It's really not fair.

Give me a sec to upload latest UniiLoader and NANDemu.
