The DSi, when cracked, will be more homebrew friendly. It's main core is 133mhz, its second is about 33mhz, adding up to a total of 166mhz (not that adding them means anything at all, just making an example of the total power), compared to the DSL's measly 67mhz and 33mhz, adding to 100mhz of power. As you can see, the DSi is about 66mhz (obviously this has been rounded as there's not really a true value for the clock speeds. I've seen the DSi's maincore clocked at 132.7mhz, just like the DSL's is only 66.7mhz).
Also, though the DSL can have 36MB (Megabytes [I've seen 1 of those floating around, but I might have accidentally divided something wrong]), factor in the speed of the GBA port, which is, from what overclocking says, 4x SLOWER than the onboard ram. So, even though the DSL can have that 36MB of ram, the DSi has a faster access speed to it's total 16MB worth of ram.
