I was thinking the same thing, I also had a hunch a long time ago that if your game is not online enabled they might take notice to it as well. Personally I use a copy of face racers because it was cheap and online enabled

I am 100% sure the header was applied correctly. I checked his system a few minutes ago, and I do it enough to be able to get the info in a heartbeat... Seeing as how I rent my games and apply those headers to my ROM's, and I have DOZENS of ROM's. I also go online with them pretty much constantly.

The only games he played online was MH4U and MK7.
He applied his private OOT header to both of them, and those are the ONLY games he went online with.

He bought his OOT from eBay. He says it was listed as "new", but a few games I bought from there as new (on auction for dirt cheap) were just shrink wrapped and obviously used.

Yea I also have a crap load of headers that I got from gamefly games I have rented as well. If nintendo ever really cracks down on headers I have the original one from every online enabled game I have

You are missing the very important "I don't give a shit about gaming online on 3DS" option in that poll.

I thinm Gateway / Sky3DS should give users a private header with their purchase of the flashcart, or offer to add one for a few extra bucks.

It's never been a good idea to use public headers, and pirated software has rarely worked online on any platform. That said, if you have Cubic Ninja, you have a private header.

I actually use the cubic ninja header for all my online games. so far no issues.

Exactly what I intend to do. Although members here have been recommending to just use .cia version and begone with the header problem altogether.

Yeah but I dont want to unlink my NANDS so its easier than having to unwrap everything any time I turn the system off

I remember reading something about dsi ware being able to be linked through the data management but other then that I am wondering myself

See that's what needs to be done idk why op made a topic when he can do just that and avoid the bs another user brought up .cia files

There are ways around it why is op saying that flashcarts are pretty much done for if you do your home work and pay attention to the multitude of tools coming out to help you flash carts imo especially the gateway is getting better with everyone putting in so much effort in making home brew and useful tools.

Op not trying to be rude but be resourceful like everyone else that uses these carts to play online or do like another user said and buy the games you like to play online with retail.

Well, 10 of the same header is still much less then w/e the other public headers have. So I guess it isn't even much of an issue. But I agree. Why not pay 8$ at Walmart for a discount game and use that header?

That's right I mean that's what happened with ms with windows people started using the same key and when you have millions of computers popping up with the same key they black list it... In this case spending 8-10 for a key that you yourself have and no one else has is a smart idea shit I do that myself lol

I had recently mentioned purchasing a N3DSXL which has fw 9.0. I've been waiting to see what would happen between Gateway and Sky3DS but it has been quite for awhile now. I hadn't any intention of having the ability to use private headers for my games.

And seeing the latest action from Nintendo, in regards to bans, has left me wondering if it's worth the money ($100+) to get a Gateway+Cubic Ninja (or Sky3DS, for that matter) to have no online capability or likely face an online ban (temporary and reoccurring or permanent). Perhaps money would be better spent with purchases that are issue free.

So the question is more of your personal opinion. Do you think it has become an untimely time to invest in the flashcard market with the sole intent of using public headers in games?

I don't get your question. You can get gateway+cubic ninja, Get the private header of cubic ninja and use it on all your roms for online... I personally have dumped my mario kart 7 header and use it on all my roms for online without any issue since December.

I hardly do online gaming at all, really. Maybe a couple of times per year for trading pokemon but that's the extent of my online services use. It's a pity too because i have 10 legitimate 3DS games at home, all sitting pretty with their private headers and such, never been dumped with my gateway........
