yup. i am kinda tempted to get a 6700k when i build a pc. i wont be upgrading in a couple of years and i want a lot of cpu power. is it worth it to pay the extra for hyperthreading and the extra power?

So basically i5 vs i7 Skylake?

For gaming? I highly doubt it. For something else? Maybe. What else were you thinking of getting with the CPU? What were you thinking of using it with?

For everything you said you would use your PC for, you would not see any noticeable benefit from the i7 with HyperThreading. i5 would be much better value for you, especially seeing as you can use the money saved to get better other parts or get that R9 390 sooner.
