Did you start the game 1 time?, you do need to do it so it can write it's stuff to the SD, so the installer can find it

Get the new starter Pack from Smea http://smealum.github.io/3ds/ and put the files on your SD
2DS on 10.3, downloaded IronFall 1.0 through the eShop old installer homebrew app from the homebrew launcher
started the game 1 time so it could make a save, then booted into HBL and launched IronHax installler, works fine

Yes. Go to smealum.github.io/3ds and get the new ironhax installer. The one with the eShop and the I, not the one with only the I.

I was using the custom grid boot.3dsx, and so I switched to the normal one that comes with the starter pack, and it worked just fine.

How do you actually download the old Ironfall? It downloaded the 1.2 version for me.
I used the ironfall smdh on the hbl that has the I drawn in paint over the eShop icon. Do I absolutely need the new boot.3dsx (if it was even updated) for it to work properly?
I'm gonna try completely using a clean download of the new starter pack, replacing everything I have on SD card so I can be sure it should work.

I'm pretty sure the payloads were updated as well, so make sure to reinstall it in your exploit method.
I'm on 9.9.0 firmware, original 3ds, got original ironfall invasion back when ironhax first dropped, though I haven't updated any of the hax files over the last few months.
Speaking as someone who doesn't follow the scene nearly as closely as they should, can someone fill me in on what all should be done to get back up-to-date, and if you can regain online capacity without compromising the hax exploit? From what I've seen, there's no firmware spoof option, but given that I've already gotten everything through tubehax and have a fully-functional homebrew channel setup, I'm curious if updating to latest firmware would remove functionality or not.
Don't expect people to spoonfeed the newbie for free, I'd throw a couple steam keys at you via pm if I can get a complete rundown, something decent like Crimzon clover or Dust or Super Meat Boy. Got a leftover Mighty Switch Force 1 key for 3ds from humble too, to be a bit more topical.

So I redownloaded the starter pack, am booting hbl through browserhax, and both eShop icons through hans (old fw spoof and Ironfall old downloader) stick me at an infinite load screen, whereas if I boot my eShop the normal way, it'll show an NNID login thing, then load the actual eShop.
Download the new starter kit and merge the files with the ones already on your SD. That fixed it for me.

HANS itself was not updated, I picked out the ironhax.smdh and ironhax.xml and put them at the root of my /3ds/ folder, got the ironhax.txt from the /titles/ folder in HANS folder and copied that over, it downloaded 1.2
I'm trying right now with a clean download of the new starter pack, I got rid of what I had before and started over with a clean starter pack. Hopefully I was simply missing a thing or two that are vital for it to actually work and I'll be able to get it to work.
Now if only the wi-fi on my 3DS wasn't shit... it's downloading so slow.

Don't forget to wipe the 1.2 ironfall before redownloading it with the eShop old version downloader
