Well, this applies to school and work - just wondering if any of you know if I can get on to IRC (Efnet) from my Internet Explorer browser here at school.

    ...?

At my school they have blocked both the ports IRC uses and any websites with the phrase "chat" used more than three times. [IMG]

Heya, look into portable apps. They are programs that you basically run from a memory stick and dont need installing (they dont use the registry etc). So yeah you just pop them on a memory stick and off you guy. It's pretty darn neat =) very nice to have programs like gimp wherever you go. So yeah google portable irc. you can change the ports that way as well =0)

If you can get portable mirc, try using irc.eversible.com +9999. This is efnet's only SSL gateway atm.
I was using it for a while before I set up a BNC at home to go through.

Here's how I get on at school.

    Download XChat.
    Install.
    ???
    Profit.

If you can't install things at school, ask permission. If not, tell me what security system they use and I'll try and help you bypass it.

Also Little: changing ports for IRC on the client is impossible without a bouncer or a proxy.

i dont have privileges to download shiz.

so downloading an irc client is out of question.

however, ill probably download a client, put it on my flashdrive, plug the flashdrive up to usb port and use it on my school computer [IMG]
