Ipod Touch 8 Gb or 32 Gb

I was planning on getting a 8 gb because for me that is plenty however i have been reading, and some places say that the 8gb is not as great as the 32 or 64 gb. Such as the 8gb doesnt have a same processor and it is not truly a 3rd gen ipod but just a 2nd gen and is somewhat slower. So i was hoping you people would help me clear up the few things. I am able to buy a 8gb this week or a 32gb next week but i dont know which i should get.

An 8GB 3G is actually the 2G model, you will be wanting the 32GB.

I'd never buy an apple product at all. Nothing but a wanker's product. Paying loads of many for the apple on product's backside. Do yourself a favour and do not buy it. An Apple product is just to give you some feeling you're trendy and are state-of the art. If you're in need for an extension of your ego why dont you get some nice tablet by archos ?

It costs less, looks fine and offers you far more features, you would be missing on the crappy Ipod.

@Ravager90, I get what you're saying, half of Apple's thing is style, and not as much functionality, and for sure their stuff is overpriced, but you have to give them some sort of credit for making mp3 players more mainstream, and advancing technology in certain ways. Although Apple is more about ego, than actual product, they still do make a decent(although overpriced product).

The 8GB has the iPhone 3G's guts, the 32GB and 64 GB have the iPhone 3GS' guts. If I were you, I'd wait til September, where they'll announce a new one with iPhone 4 guts.

Gnargle makes a good point, chances are Apple will hold another keynote in September, and chances are they are announcing 1. Some sort of fix for the iPhone 4, and 2. Announcing the new iPod touch, which will probably have a camera, if not two, because Apple want to introduce Facetime to more devices.

I might just get the 32gb next week and it really doesnt matter to me if it has a camera or not because, i already have a camera so that doesnt bother me. Also the archos does look nice but i want a ipod to jailbreak it and have fun on it. I already was looking at archos tablets a long time ago but i finally decided to just get a ipod touch. Thanks everyone for all your answers and help.

I'd wait to see what September brings us. (FaceTime, more RAM, A4 processor, Retina display, better battery life, and 802.11n are good bets.) But if you must have one now, I would go for a 32 GB iPod touch, since iOS 4.0 sucks on anything that doesn't multitask. Keep in mind that you can't jailbreak iOS 4.0 on the iPod touch 3G yet, and you'll have no way of downgrading/restoring to 3.1.x.

It actually has a slightly higher-clocked CPU than the iPhone 3G.

Get the 32gb one, you run out of space very easily as some of the top apps are around 200mb. I have aj 8gb first gen iPod touch and have 6gb worth of apps

The 8Gb is much worse than the 32Gb, the 32 has more space, a stronger processing power and (unlike the 8) will allow you to multi-task on iOS.

So your choice should be, get the 32 now or wait for the 4th gen ipod

8gb is extremly tiny for space! i couldn't even fit all my music on a 32gb i have the 64gb as my music collection is so big.

I have both a 8gb 2g and a 32gb 3g and I use the 8gb one more as it has my songs on it, I don't use my touch for anything else any more, I guess it depends on what you use it for
