Apple iPhone 3gs jailbreak and carrier unlock help

Hi there. My 3gs was jailbroken and carrier unlocked ages ago. Last week it semi bricked and was stuck in DFU mode.The only way to restore functionality to my phone was to do a full resrtore via iTunes and by doing this it has updated the OS to the new version iOS 5.1. It now also has the new iPad 06.15.00 baseband.

I have re jailbriken the phone via redsn0w and then used ultrasnow to do the carrier unlock, but it has not worked. no sim card will work in the phone includidng the orane sim card that it was originally locked to.

due to this i have tried to resore the phone back using the restore via iTunes but now that wont work either!!!

any help / suggestions would be greatfully appreciated.

You may need to use a custom ipsw using snowbreeze

i have tried that, i used the offical 5.1 firmware and made a custom from that and installed it still no joy

It's the best iDevice tutorial on the planet! Read the whole guide and ask for help there. Your 3GS should be fixed in no time.

I don't think ultrasn0w was updated for iOS 5.1 compatibility yet. If you can downgrade to 5.0.1, I would do that for the meanwhile.
