Well, there are lots of versions of IOS202 now. There are ones created by Hermes cIOS installer (different versions and different bases), there is one with mplayer ce, there is also one thats supplied by tantric for his emulators, and there might be others I dont know about.

Now the question is, which version is considered most compatible and makes the others obselete?
I'm tempted to think that Tantric's one is the way to go, but I haven't been updated in a while so I'm in no position to confirm that

Anyone care to clear this up? [IMG]

    Thanks in advance

I'm pretty sure Hermes is the most compatible. Oh yeah, do I know you from somewhere? Your name sounds very familiar. Weren't you a member of the forum Wii Rush?

Tantric's works, but I think it and the MPlayer's 202 both suffer the Hermes v3/v4 problem of causing stuttering in games and media playback. Hermes v5 in the 202 slot is the latest release, is completely compatible, and offers the smoothest no-crash, no-stutter playback for pretty much anything. Try it and see - if you don't like it, try a different one.

Ah that clears things quite a bit. I only asked because my wii is a bit outdated and I remember when Tantric released his version of IOS202 he stated that its more compatible than mplayer's one, and that it was working with their recent built. I will however give hermes a try though as I havent touched v5 yet, thanks [IMG]

one question though, which IOS base should be used for IOS202?

I think you might. I was known as samsam12 on that forum. Do you know what happened to it, I don't think its online anymore. IOS38 always worked well for me.

Ah yes I do know you (I knew everyone over there, we werent big) ..
As for what happened to it, I dont want to bad mouth anyone, I was raised against those values. So lets just say there were internal problems, and the "owner" got what he deserved [IMG]

Install v5 to IOS202 using whatever the default is (38? 57? I forget) and leave it.

You can also update your 222 and 223, but I prefer using v4 for those since v5 isn't compatible with some loaders.

"Tantric's" IOS 202 is actually Hermes IOS 202, but a slightly updated version. 5.1, if you will. It's the preferred choice.
