Apple iOS 5.0.1 jailbreak problem

Ok so I just got a new iPod 3rd gen (last one got stolen) and I saw the update for redsnow that gave an untethered 5.0.1 jailbreak! I tried it in administrator mode, xp service pack 2 and 3 and normal windows 7 mode! Each time, the program crashes half way through preparing the jailbreak data! I'd there any way to fix this?

I had a similar problem, Windows 7 wouldn't work at all regardless of compatibility mode, in XP resetting both the iPod and the PC helped.

nope didnt work, i know theres a mod in cydia that can untether a tethered 5.0.1 so what version of redsn0w can i use to jailbreak tethered?
