Hacking Internet Browser Freeze on GW10.3.0-28U N3DS EmuNAND

So my GW N3DS Emunand was at 9.5.0-23U (spoofed to 9.5.0-28U with Nver, but that was the ONLY out of the ordinary system update I had done to the system). Further full disclosure, this is a region-changed EmuNAND from J to U (I have had no issues like this since the region change and have been running on 9.5 Emunand for many many months without issue). After the 10.4.0-29U update was released, I wanted to update, but I wanted to try and not break the GW multi-rom loader.

I had a 10.3.0-28U update cached on the system and was getting the update nag. So I disabled wifi, went into System Settings on GW EmuNAND, verified my current version and then went to System Update. The system proceeded to update with the cached update and then rebooted. Upon starting EmuNAND back up, I checked and my version was now, as expected, GW3D 10.3.0-28U. Everything seems to be fine, I even installed some CIAs downloaded from the eShop with FunkyCIA2 that would require a crypto-fix otherwise if still on 9.5 EmuNAND and they ran fine. I didn't notice any problems until trying to launch the web browser.

If I launch the web browser without wifi enabled, I am able to launch new tabs or look at the existing tabs I had open before the update and I just get an error message saying to enable wireless. However, with wireless enabled, I am able to open a new EMPTY tab, but if I go to any tab that has a website loaded or try to load any new website (basically any action that tries to access the internet), the browser freezes and the entire system locks up and I have to hard-power down. There are no other error messages, it just freezes.

Has anyone else seen behavior like this with the browser on Gateway on 10.3.0+? I am using the latest available GW launcher, obviously (3.7) or my EmuNAND wouldn't be launching, and the browser shows as the proper 10.2.0/10.3.0-28U version in FBI (TitleID 0004003020009402, v4096 [0x1000 in hex, as displayed by FBI]). In the browser itself, under Settings -> Version Information it displays "1.4.10138". I have tried clearing cookies but that didn't help at all. I haven't tried clearing all settings yet as I don't want to reset all my bookmarks...but I was hoping someone else on here might have some insight before I do that. Any and all help is appreciated. TL;DR: Updated region-changed GW 9.5.0-23U N3DS EmuNAND (spoofed to 28U) to 10.3.0-28U from cached offline update; afterwards any Internet/website access through the Internet Browser freezes the system. Please help!

Huzzah! Question (not regarding this update), has anyone else's Miiverse stopped working in Emunand? It hasn't worked for me in some time, it just freezes the system.

Counting myself, there would seem to be multiple separate issues of system applets freezing/crashing under 10.3/10.4 GW EmuNAND (assuming all these issues are happening under Gateway). I suppose one test would be for us users having problems to try launching our EmuNANDs under something else, like ReiNAND to see if Gateway is the cause or if it's 10.3/10.4 in general.

I would be curious for other GW N3DS users to check all 5 of their system applets to see if they have any problems with them on 10.3/10.4 (given most users might not launch all of them on a normal basis and different users are having different applets freeze on them).

This is the process I followed to troubleshoot my Internet Browser and ultimately fix it:

GW 9.5.0-23U spoofed to 28U (Region-Changed J->U) - 3.6.2 GW Launcher - Browser Worked
3.7 GW Launcher - Browser Worked
GW 10.3.0-28U updated from cached update - Browser Broken
3.7.1 GW Launcher - Browser Broken
*EmuNAND 10.3.0-28U backup created with Decrypt9WIP
ReiNandMod by Aurora Wright 10.3.0-28U - Browser crashes and errors, but doesn't freeze system
(While in ReiNandMod) - Reset browser completely - Browser still crashes and errors, doesn't freeze system
*EmuNAND 10.3.0-28U backup restored with Decrypt9WIP
Updated GW 10.3.0-28U to 10.4.0-29U - Browser WORKS!

At this point, I would guess that the browser update in the cached system update on my EmuNAND was corrupted somehow and broke the browser when I upgraded to 10.3.0-28U (or perhaps having Nver spoofed broke the browser update, not sure). Anyway, since updating to 10.4.0-29U fixed it, I'm willing to bet that uninstalling and reinstalling the 28 version of the browser would also have fixed my issue.
