What does the (2 CPUs) mean?
My friend told me that I have 2 P4 processors.
If that's true, what's my total processing speed? I highly doubt it's 6GHz...

So say there's a game that requires something like 2.66GHz on a Core Duo.
How would the P4 (2 CPUs) compare with that?

I'm actually trying to run Prototype, but there is a very noticeable lag. Certain parts of playing will lag only a little, but lots of movement/action lags it a lot.

Intel Pentium 4 3.00GHz (2 CPUs)
Have a ATI Radeon HD4830 512MB graphics card.
2GB of RAM
Windows XP SP3
Sufficient HD space
DirectX 9.0c

Obviously, I'm in real need of an upgrade soon, but I thought I'd ask.

Thanks for any help!

im not too sure but i think you are actually seeing 2 CPU's because of hyperthreading which means you actually only have 1 core that or you have one of the early Pentium D's

anyhow a 2.66GHZ core 2 duo should kill a 3GHZ pentium 4/Pentium D

maybe someone can verify if im correct?
