If the 3DS is already on 2.1 t the start, he won't have a 9.2 backup.
Oh, then I would dump the otp, update to 4.5 with a cart and then use sysupdater to go to 9.2 since that will give you a usable browser. I would not install a9lh until I was on 9.2.

I asked Smealum and Ninjhax 2 doesn't use browser at all. (The reference Toiry921 gave is old enough that it refers to Ninjhax 1 only.)

So obviously the guide does not need a section warning about Ninjhax 2 with no browser. However, the other problems with the guide are still there:

-- The 2-6 browser column doesn't mention cart updating to 9.3-10.x, even though there are rare cases where it could be useful (i.e. they need a 4.x or 6.x cart update to use rxtools, do not have one, but do have CN or OOT+Powersaves, and a 9.x-10.x cart update.)
-- Neither column mentions cart updating to 9.0-9.2 and then using a cart exploit to continue.
-- The 4.x section has an option "6.X.X-0 Cart Update then 6.X.X-0 MSET"; this option is never useful under 4.x (since you could do 4.x mset instead). I asked Plailect about this one and he wouldn't fix it.

If Ninjhax works on 9.2 with any browser, the OP should be able to use Cubic Ninja OTP and cart upgrade to 9.2 like he suggested, then use Ninjhax as his homebrew entry point the rest of the way.

(Although I should add the disclaimer that someone reported that 9.2.0-4 did not wortk with Ninjhax. The only way to *prove* it works is for someone to actually try it and report the result.)

Wow I didn't realise so many people would reply haha. I did it before waiting for the response about skipping 4.x/6.x and it went fine. What I did:

- Dumped OTP.bin using the first half of the instructions give to me
- Updated to 9.2 using Gardening Mama
- Used Cubic Ninja to run Decrypt9WIP.3dsx to make a NAND backup
- Used Cubic Ninja to run SafeA9LHInstaller.3dsx using the second half of the instructions given (guide is missing needing to put SafeA9LHInstaller.dat on the root, and also to put OTP.bin in the a9lh folder not leave it on the root)
- Used Cubic Ninja to run NASA.3dsx to install FBI.cia and hblauncherloader.cia (FBI.3dsx would not let me install from SD or use the QR reader to install, Google wouldn't tell me why so I tried NASA and it worked first go)
- Used FBI to install freeShop from the QR code

Whole thing took 20 minutes from scratch to installing games, would have been less, like ten minutes, if my cat hadn't kept jumping on my lap demanding attention. So, no need to update to 4.x or 6.x with a game and then update to 9.2 using sysupdater, as long as you have Cubic Ninja/Sky3DS.
