I got a modified Wii with version 4.2U and it's been years since I played with it. Now that I'm using it again, I decided to update the necessary things. I installed the Hackmii Installer v1.2 to update my old BootMii and HBC and it works fine. I also installed the cIOS mentioned in the softmod guide in the google sites (you know what it is).

I wanted to have the IOS58 but I preferred not to update to 4.3U so I downloaded IOS58 v.6176 through the NUS downloader. I then installed it using a WAD manager (I used YAWMM). As per instructions, I was supposed to reinstall HBC again and this is where the problem began. I'm still able to load the HBC but I cannot run any apps anymore, it just freezes in a black screen. I tried running HackMii through bannerbomb but it still yields the same result, a frozen black screen mocking me.

Someone suggested that I should go ahead and update the console into 4.3U in the hopes that it will wipe the hacks and return it in a clean slate. Do you think that's what it'll do? I'm just afraid that it might wipe the things installed and still can't run any elf/dol files.

There. I described the problem the best way I can. Any suggestions for a fix? NAND restoration is risky for me since I only have BootMii as an IOS. I can post the last sysCheck I made before I screwed things up if you think that'll help.

Just a heads-up, you really should use IOS58 Installer by Tantric to install IOS58. Also, If you don't have access to 4.1 without downgrading, you should just update to 4.3.

Anyway, you should probably upload the sysCheck. Don't forget to block out your console ID.
In the meantime, you should try installing a Homebrew Channel theme and see if that works.
You may want to try uninstalling IOS58 and reinstalling it.
Do you have Priiloader?

I haven't tried installing a theme yet as the Wii is in my other house right now. And I can't uninstall IOS58 since I can't run any apps including a WAD manager.
I have Priiloader, yes. But it's an old version, didn't got a chance to update it. I installed it when I first softmodded the Wii. It's v0.1(r15) according to the menu.

Here's my latest sysCheck log before installing IOS58 -

Well, It seems you need a new IOS58, but the problem is you can't access any homebrew app, so you need to update, all homebrew will be deleted, but you can reinstall it by the letterbomb or others games exploits, we need to know if 4.3U give a new IOS58.

Yeah.

Also, make sure Block Online Updates is turned off on Priiloader, or the update will fail.

I dont't have a viable internet connection on where the Wii is. But I do have a Metroid Other M game disc. AFAIK it has the initial 4.3 update so I hope that would be enough.

Yes, the final system only adds IOS62, 4.3U update the IOS58, but I'm not sure if it will install, try it.
