Installation Method of Trucha and Cios on system menu 4.2

    Installation Method of Trucha and Cios on system menu 4.2 (tested on 4.2e)


    Files Required located at MediaFire Upload

    All programs are Opened from Homebrew Channel

    IOS Wads needs to be downloaded using NUS downloader


    All GameCube Equipment Must be removed or this will have issues



    Preparation

    Copy all files from this archive to Sd

    Run NUS downloader (use NUSD 1.3beta) and download the following wads from the database

    IOS15 v257
    IOS15 v523
    IOS36 v3351
    IOS38 v3610

    and copy them on the root of sd



    Installing Homebrew

    I aint providing instructions for this, find a tutorial on how to put the homebrew channel on 4.2



    Installing Trucha

    1. Open 'TBRMOD'

    2. Make sure the ios your reloading is 'IOS36,' then press 1 when it comes up

    3. Choose 'Downgrade IOS15'

    4. Choose 'load IOS from sd card' twice, then press A twice as they come up, after install TBRMOD will exit

    5. Open 'TBRMOD'

    6. Choose 'IOS15' for reloading, then press 1 when it comes up

    7. Choose 'IOS36 Menu'

    8. Set install slot to 'IOS236', then Mark all 3 options below to 'yes' then click 'Install patched IOS36'

    9. Choose 'load IOS from sd card', then press A after the preparation, after install TBRMOD will exit

    10. Open 'TBRMOD'

    11. Make sure the ios your reloading is 'IOS36,' then press 1 when it comes up

    12. Choose 'Restore IOS15'

    13. Choose 'load IOS from sd card', then press A to start installation, after install TBRMOD will exit





    Wiping Stubs

    1. Open 'AnyTitle Deleter MOD'

    2. Select 'IOS236' for IOS reloading

    3. Open 'system titles'

    4. Select one by one for the following and press A to delete then A again to confirm for each
    IOS222
    IOS223
    IOS249
    IOS250

    5. Exit AnyTitle Deleter Mod





    Installing Cios

    1. Open 'cIOS38r14' installer

    2. Select 'IOS236' to use

    3. Select 'Wad installation'

    4. Installation will begin, after install press A to exit installation







    You are complete, you can now install backup/usb loaders and other cios like the Hermos 222/223

    So basically the same as on 4.1 [​IMG] Still that's a good tutorial, I prefer to use IOS36 instead of IOS236 but thats just preference.

    Ok, not bad as a guide.
    But why all these look a likes, you just get confused browsing so many guides.

    I think the sticky guides sum it all up quite good already.

    We have two stickied guides that tell you how to mod every system already. We really don't need any more.
    Though xzxero should really update his. ;P

    Sounds like my guide [​IMG]
    I can also tell that this guide do work for 4.2.
    If you remove the part of deleting the WAD you can use it on every system menu, but you need older bannerbomb on pre 4.2 system.
    I have done 50+ pre 4.2 and about 10+ 4.2 system.
    Its easy to do and its safe.

    im lazy, and this guide's file pack posted contain IOS's?
    i mean it is up to date, except for the whole email thing.
    but the files are up to date.

    i will reupload with the wads wiped


    and about this guide, this is a fully safe guide and its simple,
    the guide is close to the 4.1 but on 4.2 u got the stubs to wipe

    it is simple, basic, and it loads the main cios at ios 249

    this is good for people who want it done as simple as possible without modifying any of the core wii IOS
