Hello to all,
in these day i've understand Triiforce and NAND stuff.

Dump my nand increase Wiiware run success near 70-80%...

Now i'm reading that some wiiware return black screen because some IOS missing
(eg: IOS56 for pokemon rumble)

is possible to 'install' IOS into NAND backup used in triiforce ?

This can have any influence in triiforce load engine ?

thank you all for reading,

m.

Up,

Another 2 question about NAND emulation.

NAND emulation take all dump and works on it, or take only some parts and load 'core' from Wii hardware ?

Using Japan NAND dump increase success loading Japan titles ?

Thank you for you patiente,

m.

IOS doesn't matter for playing games from SD/HDD because it is always using IOS249.

IOS249 is only used as a support IOS for backup launchers.

Games rely on many IOS files.

WiiWare especially relies on IOS53 and IOS55, as well as IOS56.

Edit: I'm not sure if there is an easy way to inject an IOS into a NAND backup, at the moment. Seems you're better off making sure you have the proper IOS installed before creating the NAND backup.

Not on NAND emulation. IOS249 provides the emulation, and is the IOS used by all programs run from an emulated nand.
exactly.

triiforce and every game in your emulated NAND runs off IOS249.

What i do is make a complete NAND dump with FStoolbox, then use Showmiiwads to delete all the IOS and System menu items from the NAND and just have games.

Works every time.

How does this handle dependencies like IOS53 and IOS55?

when you run a game via triiforce, it's using IOS249

as opposed to if you were to install the same game WAD, it would use whatever IOS it needs, like 53 or 55.

When using triiforce, the IOS the game originally uses is irrelevant, like USB loaders.

So if/when a future WiiWare is released which requires a special/new IOS, then the cIOS will have to have support written and recompiled. Oh joy. Hmm, I forgot the whole "There can only be one IOS running at a time." So this all makes perfect sense and I was being silly.

I should go read up on what the Triiforce kids are up to before commenting on Triiforce.

exactly. unless somehow the game works with the current cIOS with no problem, which is super unlikely.
