i play on backup disks, only NTSC-U, rarely ever play VC games, BrickBlock all .ISOs before burning

update Wii to latest safe FW
play the newest games (ie CoD:Modern Warfare Reflex)
still play all my old backups (no trucha signed disks)
still use Internet Channel
keep all my Mii/game save data
be able to use High Capacity SD cards (dont really have the need for it though)
boot VC games from SD card (is this possible?)
finally figure out wtf Gecko is used for (will i be able to play PAL G-1 Jockey?)
be able to use USBloader once i get a new portable hdd (is 500gb big enough for a large collection?


how do i go about updating to 4.1 and whatever else that needs updating?

so far so good, but one question...

in the Modify 4.2 part, after i completed this section...

Run Trucha Bug Restorer
Choose IOS15 & press A. (Important)
Wait till it says Press 1 then press it.
Choose IOS36 menu. In there use these settings:

Install IOS to slot (36)
Hash check (trucha) YES
ES_Identity YES
NAND Permissions YES

Then press A on install patched IOS36.
Everytime it says "load IOS from SD" press A.​

You need an original IOS installed. I just installed an untouched IOS 61 (shopping channel) Then installed HBC again and it was fine

i seem to have fixed it by uninstalling and then reinstalling the HBC.
it is now right side up again, using IOS61.
