Work-around for Audio

Just tested it with the following setup;
  • Switch with In-Home-Switching
  • PC running Persona 5 on PS3 Emulator
  • Android phone running SoundWire
  • Headphones connected to phone
Not the best game to test, as it runs choppy... but i think the work-around for audio works for me atleast

That may have been true a few years ago but not anymore.

I guess you will be giving up PC gaming when driver support ends sometime next year for your soon to be dead and outdated OS?
Uhmm, yeah it still is. Just go check graphs.
And why would I want an "alive" os that gives me less fps than a "dead" one??
Hell if its just for the alive thing then give me that dead shit m8 I'll take it all day long

You must be doing something wrong if you are getting higher fps in Win 7 than 10. Usually, I have to lower my fps to match my 144hz monitor so I don't get screen tearing.

But I digress, to each their own.

Maybe in some extremely specific scenarios. But generally speaking this statement is just plain false, ignoring DX12 (which can give a very significant performance boost) benchmarks between win 7 and win 10 mostly fall within margin of error.

Speaking from a performance standpoint there is objectively no reason to stick with Windows 7, especially since it will lose support.

I'm getting same error. Did you ever figure it out?

SharpDX is the API used for rendering. It could be:

-Your GPU isn't compatible with the encoder used
-Outdated DirectX and/or video drivers
-Outdated .NET Framework

Do your host computer uses any kind of integrated graphics?

Just dropping in to say, thanks for even considering an OS X version, not many game-centric streaming programs over here, just Steam In Home Streaming, and that just uses software encoding.

We made In-Home-Switching, a Nintendo-Switch homebrew application which allows you to stream and control your PC-Games on your Switch! (like moonlight)
Your Joy-Cons serve as an "Xbox"-Controller for your PC.

Under good conditions it can reach around 60 FPS at 720p and very low latency!

Here's a Screenshot of Witcher 3 taken from a Nintendo Switch! :)
trVxYuY.jpg

How to use:

Full instructions are on the Github page but here's a small rundown:

On your PC you need Windows 8 or higher, Linux support is planned.
- Install these drivers (installer is at "Driver Installer/ScpDriverInstaller.exe").
- Download the release from here and unpack the zip where ever you want it.
- Copy and run the NRO from the Switch-folder to your Switches SD-Card.
- Run the "In-Home-Switching.exe" from the "Windows"-folder on your PC and enter the IP-Address of your Switch (can be found in network-settings).
- Click on the big "Connect"-Button and enjoy! :)

Please note that in order to help performance we overclock the switch.
As far as we know this is pretty safe but we're not responsible for any damage that might come to your hardware.

(we meaning my friend D-VAmpire and me)

Many many thanks to the following people/projects:
  • ffmpeg for being such a powerful media tool that we use on PC and Switch.
  • SwitchBrew for libNX and its ffmpeg inclusion
  • Atmosphère for being such a great Switch CFW
  • Captura for showing us how to capture frame input with Windows Duplication API
  • simontime for his switch-usb-screen-stream-sharp project for Windows
  • ScpDriverInterface for the Xbox drivers on Windows
Yeeesss!! This is brilliant!
Thank you so much! Good luck with the development

I remember seeing a joke about running those Switch emus on your Switch. Now, its possible. Lol.

Cemu Wii U, Dolphin Wii GameCube, PPSSPP PSP, Desmume DS, Xenia Xbox 360, Redream / Reicast Dreamcast, PCSX2 PS2, RPCS3 PS3, and who knows what else is on PC.

@jakibaki *Might be a good idea to add 90DNS to the OP and ReadMe to assist those that aren't banned. Sure, nothing is a guaranteed ban prevention, but this may be of use. https://gbatemp.net/threads/90dns-dns-server-for-blocking-all-nintendo-servers.516234/

Fantastic work! Is it possible to map the controller buttons? I want to change the Xbox button layout to the Switch one as it feels weird pressing B for A etc ect, thanks!

You have to turn wifi on? So in order to use this without worrying about typical Nintendo ban nonsense or whatever, you need to have 99dns in order to use this carefree?

Also needing to overclock is a deal breaker for me as well.

I'm happy people are getting it to work n stuff, but I wish it was easier to use without worry.

I guess since I seen Mario 64 posted, even though it’s not an actual switch emulator, if there’s a good ps2 emulator on pc, this maybe the closest thing to playing ps2 on switch and possibly any other powerful system.
