Aight, so in three some weeks the Final Fantasy series turns 20, at least if go by the Japanese release date. I can't say I'm approaching this occurrence with joy bearing in mind all the mandatory fanboy wanking that is bound to happen; it makes some part of me despair that people can hype these - at the time of their respective releases, humble (save for the last few installments) - games, putting them on a pedestal as if they were and are beyond all of their contemporaries, even to this day.
So, in this thread, we discuss the Final Fantasy series/franchise, as it has come to be. Which is your favorite, and why? How would you like to see the franchise develop? How do you think the Final Fantasy games compare to other games of today?
