I am so glad I ran across that cover art site. I had completely forgot that DS game cases had slots for GBA games. As such, I'm picking up all my GBA games out of their pile, sticking them into DS cases, printing out the properly proportion covers, cutting them out, and so on. I'm happy with the results!

Yeah, I know I'm not the first, but can't I be happy about it? And yeah, I know that's a tiny collection, but I know some of my GBA games are somewhere... I'll get them all eventually!

The GBA cover art is designed for a DS case. Sadly, not every game is there, but I've only ran into one issue with that.

Anyway, I found these cases at a local pawn shop. I'll probably clean them out later this week. I do know you can buy cases in bulk from Amazon or where ever. I think Nintendo sells them directly too, but I haven't had any luck navigating their terrible site.

I personally can't believe this isn't as well known! But hey, it's not like I'm keeping it a secret!

FYI, it took me forever to calibrate everything right. Tons of wasted paper and ink. But once you find the settings that works best for you, it's awesome! I also don't have the best printer in the world, and I'm just using regular paper. Hand cut them out... No real secret tricks to this.

See? I knew I couldn't be the first! Helped by the fact that the GBA covers on that site are for DS cases.

Thanks for the tip

It's what I do for my PS3 Greatest Hits titles (Because I think they look horrendous), never figured to do the same for my GBA carts. Considering I still have all the manuals and inserts for my GBA games, I think this would be an awesome thing to do :grog:

In case anyone's interested, you can get game card cases directly from Nintendo:

USD $1 for one case
USD $4 for five cases
USD $7 for ten cases

You can also try your luck at getting them for free from GameStop. Just ask the employees if they have any spare display cases lying around. They usually do and they're pretty cool about giving them away if it's only 1-3 cases.

I agree. I hate the "Greatest Hits" green labels of PS1 games and the red label of PS2 and PS3 games (also the Player's Choice / Nintendo Selects labels, etc.). For me it's either original black labels or nothing

But if anyone wants them, those DS game card cases can be bought in "player's choice red" as well.

EDIT: Nah they ship to US states and Canada only :(
That's unfortunate. I'm sorry they don't ship to you =/

Maybe you can arrange for someone in the US or Canada to buy them and then ship them to you?

*EDIT*
On second thought, that might defeat the whole purpose of being able to get them cheaply, since you'd have to pay for shipping to the buyer's address, plus shipping to your address

Sorry, I wish I could be more helpful.

See? I knew I couldn't be the first!
Nor was I the first. :P

I saw instructions on how to a few years ago but didn't put it into action until recently. I now have ~60 games in cases. My only problem is that there are some games in my collection that don't have corresponding covers @thecoverproject. Someday though...

Perhaps you could request the covers? I just wish I had a GBA collection like yours... And some sort of modded cable that would let me hook up my gameboy micro to my Wii/Gamecube... And no, I don't really have the knowhow to do that my self. I would much rather get one off of someone who has done it already or buy a pre-made one... BUT that's besides the point.

Someone here used to make those cables you mentioned. Forget who though.

Also, I'm working of some of the covers myself. I scanned in the box art (if you can call it that) for a bunch of my flash carts. Tracking down a high quality scan of Secret Agent Barbie (among others) will be a task though...

For a small group of games, you got some of the best! I'm playing Advance Wars 2 now and enjoying every minute of it. This is a great project, I need to do the same for my open game collection.
