I'm close to a fully working soap private NUS 9.1J update server. I just am working with my web guy and another very helpful member on here to accomplish it.

@laramie is taking some time off since I am close to finishing multiple project's on the 8.1 update. I know he's got school and a life.

I'm not putting a time frame on anything but I'm close

Given he hasn't done it himself with the files removed from Nintendo's servers, I'd say Tokio is making an assumption from stuff he has read and doesn't fully know how it works.

Tokio if you want to make claims that everyone else doesn't agree with, you really need to make a proof of concept video.
Well, since he mentioned his successful came from a private server, I had already treated him as a rumor producer.

Guess who can host SOAP servers publically now for anyone? ;) and my break is more of waiting for hundshamer to send my consoles back haha but yeah :)

Private server? You host it on your local machine, of course it's private. Most of the work is public on this forum and Yifan Lu's blog, it just needs some small customisation if you host the firmware yourself because what was already made is specifically for the files hosted by Nintendo. It's almost as if non of you have any networking knowledge, which comes as no surprise.

It's pretty funny there are all these nay-sayers when a couple of members already have had success with this method, and the groundwork has all been done by someone with a high reputation in the PS scene.

Honestly I no longer give a shit and will host it all publicly myself since I have 2TB transfer/month, if someone who has CN can send me a configuration that is confirmed to work (@Ronhero), or once I get a copy of CN myself.

@SylverReZ find me ONE community that is free of drama and politics. even video games forums (like this one) have politics section. and for some reason gamers still take consoles/brands wars seriously. even as a kid i never took the console wars bait despite being a nintendo kid.
  • Vetusomaru @ Vetusomaru:
one of the reasons i deleted all my social media accounts, reddit account (although i was rarely using it) etc was to get away from this shit.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Vetusomaru, Sadly, not all communities like to play nice. Forums are pretty much dying despite Discord amongst other social media being available.
  • Vetusomaru @ Vetusomaru:
i only kept my twitter accounts and only because many of the artists i like share their art only/mostly at twitter.
  • Vetusomaru @ Vetusomaru:
lots of discord groups (even the big ones) are also dead for some reason.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    Twitter is way too shittier.
  • Vetusomaru @ Vetusomaru:
that's why i added some firefox addons to block shit like twitter trends.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Discord, on the other hand, moderation tends to not be very nice in video game communities from what I had experienced.
  • Vetusomaru @ Vetusomaru:
nah, discord is also a shithole. discord is good only if you have your own community with your own rules. or if you re lucky to find some groups that arent shitholes.
  • Vetusomaru @ Vetusomaru:
as about forums, when i recently revisited some old forums i used to be regular and seeing how immature most members still are i was like "Yeap. Nothing of value has been lost.". Unfortunately it's the good, comfy forums that ended up dead or shut down, especially because of internet centralization.
