NOTE: This news is probably 2 days old to some people, I'm just posting this for anyone uninformed.

Imageepoch, the developer behind the Luminous Arc series, Criminal Girls and the recently released Stella Glow is now officially bankrupt and out of business. Imageepoch is well known for developing some great RPGs released for the Nintendo DS, 3DS, PS3, PSP and Vita.

Imageepoch, along with their affiliate company Smile Online Games had over $11 million worth of debt from their creditors and struggled to pay it off.

On a recap, here are some of a few titles that Imageepoch released for the PSP:

    - Last Ranker (JP 2010)
    - Fate/EXTRA (JP 2010, NA 2011)
    - <sequel> Fate/EXTRA CCC (JP 2013)
    - Criminal Girls (JP 2010)
    - Black Rock Shooter: The Game (JP 2011, NA 2013)
    - 7th Dragon 2020 (JP 2011)
    - <sequel> 7th Dragon 2020-II (JP 2013 developed and published by SEGA)
    - Sol Trigger (JP 2012)

While this is just typically a sign of the times shifting in the gaming industry, it's still sad to see another game studio go and say goodbye.

Let's just hope that this will be the last studio that go bust this year.

Shame, though this has been coming for a while.
Would have liked to see some vita games from them,
maybe the staff will move onto somewhere else.

Yeah, been there have been articles for a while on Japanese news sites. (e.g. hachima kikou)

Also I like that someone has posted the news, not the news itself

Ah, the curious case of the missing CEO. That bit of news is indeed disturbing in many ways than one. He even deleted his own twitter account and literally erased his existence in the internet. :wtf:

I just hope nothing bad has ever happened to him, and the rest of his staff.

I quite liked some of their games, the Luminous Arc and the Fate/Extra series were really good (among some others). As a company though they didn't always make the best decisions.
