does anyone else have to do stuff like this? whenever i'm with a particular person (any person in my life) be it a relative or friend, I have to act a particular way, taking care not to offend him/her, trying to remember what they find funny and amusing so that i foucs on that. This is different with every single person i know, and i'm tired of it. I wish i could meet someone and talk to them without worrying what I'm saying... and talking about the things that i myself am actually interested in. Will i ever find someone who actually cares about me too? someone who'll ask how i'm doing and actually mean it?

In conclusion: i'm tired and i'll probably die alone.

end of rant.

should probably be in the blog area but whatever.

When I talk to people I act like I wish to act not how someone wishs me to act. I talk the way I wish and they can too. No need to be afraid of being judged as it is part of life...

Sounds to me like you're trying too hard to please everyone else,
and not enough time doing what pleases you.

Self-pleasure is paramount. *nodnodnod*

Don't try to offend them but don't try so hard to make them laugh either. Be more like yourself

That's what the teletubbies say

thanx for the replies. it's nice to know people listen. (honestly i wasn't really expecting anyone to care.)
i'm just feeling a little depressed right now... i hope i come out of it soon, and when i do i'll fall back into my normal "role".

feels like my life has stopped while everyone else around me is speeding by. only i'm still getting older (I'm 24

).
i have to be this way because it is whats expected of me.

also i really believe the most important reason we're put on this planet is to help other people.

I'm pretty sure this harkens way back when.
Back when being by yourself meant certain death. It was paramount to belong to a group for the sake of survival, whether naturally or through effort (or wearing a mask).

Course, with society as it is today, it's not nearly as important. You're probably just doing it instinctively and through the years it's just become habit. You wouldn't need to keep the mask on if you never wear it in the first place.

Try and just be yourself, these days humans are pretty open-minded for the most part.
You might even find people will like you more when you're not wearing your mask.
At the very least, the kind of people you like will be more likely to come to you if you never put up a mask.

I hope you cheer up, it's depressing being uh...depressed. >.>;;

No, I'm me wherever I go, whatever the occasion. But as me, I recognize that I have a responsibility to play a role in civilized life, so I always try to be aware of other people's feelings and credo. I don't change who I am, but I also don't go out of my way to demand people recognize who I am. I've been fired from jobs for being who I am; I've lost friends and lovers for not bending at certain points in my life. Mistakes? I don't know.

I look at it like this: If God can accept me for who I am, then damn well anyone can and should. That doesn't mean I can let my dick hang out all day and be a scumbag, but I'm me. Love it or leave it, Tommy!

I feel this way. Nice mask for my pals, hentai perv mask in gbatemp, loveable teen who is helpful mask around the folks, shy/cute mask for my girlfriend... none of them is who I really am.
Heck, I don't even know who I really am or what I believe. I've grown up like this and don't even have a solid "real" personality.
