    Hello everyone!
Lately i've been reading MANY people saying rxTools it's an outdated CFW, there aren't many people still using it and so on. Following these people advice, I'm trying to understand how to swap to something newer.

Currently i have a 9.2 SysNAND and 11.0 EmuNAND (running with rxtools).
I'd like to keep the few CIAs I have installed and the related save data. I read a lot about the A9LH-thing...but i'm not really into it since i'd like to keep the sysnand untouched (and as far as i've understood A9LH is sysnand-based).
I tried search here on gbatemp for some tutorial\guide (even googled and checked on reddit)...but didn't find a single post.

Any help\explaination\suggestion on how to swap CFW is appreciated! Thanks :)

Switching cfw is really easy. Just download the files from the Luma3DS wiki, paste them on your sd card, remove the rxtools files and tada.

If you want A9LH search for Plialects guide but you don't have to do that.

how you launching cfw? menuhax? If so all you have to do is delete rxtools folder and .dat file and use Luma 3DS instead. You could boot staright into luma with menuhax if you put the boot file from the menuhax folder in luma3ds archive to the root of you sd card along with luma3ds.dat check out https://github.com/AuroraWright/Luma3DS/wiki/Installation-and-Upgrade

    Between insane and insecure
Switching CFW's won't effect your NAND. I can run as many CFW's and switch between them, all using the same NANDs and keeping your current system.
Just delete all the files related RXTools and replace them with the files from Luma3DS. Your emuNAND should work just fine regardless of the CFW you are running.

Oh good. And i won't lose any save data? However, is there some table where i can see a comparison between..let's say Luma3DS and CakesCFW?

And now the question i guess everybody's asking. Is A9LH REALLY REALLY REALLY worth installing if you already have an EmuNAND set up and running?

Well, you won't lose anything by setting up A9LH because you keep your existing NAND. Most people copy their EmuNAND to SysNAND as you don't really need an EmuNAND with A9LH, but you can still use your EmuNAND if you want. There's just no point anymore because you will no longer be relying on your SysNAND for an exploit - that's the whole point, A9LH runs before your SysNAND even boots.

A9LH is a boot-time exploit, meaning you enter CFW as soon as you press the power button. No need for an EmuNAND anymore, and serves as brick protection.

But no, you don't NEED A9LH, you can just keep using menuhax if you want.

yeah it is worth it and there's no need for a table just get luma plus on a9lh it's safe to do things on sysnand and even if you did somethin dumb and bricked you can recover

But in order to install A9LH i have to format the 3DS and i suppose the SD too, implying i'll lose CIAs and saves, right?

I didn't format anything so no if you follow plialects guide exactly you lose nothing and its all on your sysnand

No. You backup and restore everything during the process so everything will be exactly as it was before.

The only downside to A9LH is that it will take a couple of hours to set it up. It's worth it, but not essential if you really don't want to.

And this: https://github.com/Plailect/Guide/wiki is the guide i should be following to setup A9LH? Is there any part i can skip since I already have an EmuNAND and SysNAND is on 9.2?

No if you already have EmuNAND/RedNAND, you don't have to backup every file on your SD card in the process of installing A9LH. You can start from Part 4

straight to part 4 (just make sure you get luma before you start cause thats what he uses and it only tells you how to get it earlier on so just do as above)

But to be clear, there's not really any point in having an EmuNAND with A9LH. In the past, we kept our 9.2 SysNAND untouched because we relied on 9.2 for our exploits. With A9LH, the exploits no longer rely on SysNAND - they run before the NAND even boots.

You can keep EmuNAND if you really want to, but there's not much point.
