    Heya,

I am new here and want to use the PastaCFW.
Right now, I'm on Firmware 7.1 and want to update to 9.2
Is there a way to do that without any Flashcard or Retail Game?

You can't run PastaCFW without a retail game, so...

That's true, I own Cubic Ninja but not a Retail Game with Update 9.2 on it.
I want to update Firmware 7.1 to 9.2 without Retail Game (with 9.2) or Flashcard)

Downgrade your console to 4.X, then use pbt-cfw + 3dnus + sysupdater to upgrade your console to 9.2.

    Ah.
Well you can use FBI through NINJHAX to install the 9.2 update CIAs but be very very careful. I would not suggest trying that without doing a lot of research first to find out how to do it safely. If you do anything wrong you end up with a pretty paperweight.

Yea...OR...Find someone with US SSB v1 ROM/cart and update that way. (safest, easiest)

Any method that involves manually installing update CIAs poses some risk. Downloading all the firmware update files for 9.2 for your region through 3DNUS and installing them with FBI should be all that is needed. I don't think it's very risky, I just don't want anyone to end up with a brick because of a suggestion I gave them. So that's why I advise you to do your own research. And make a NAND backup beforehand, so that you can get a NAND mod installed and unbrick it if it goes wrong.

The only safe way is to use a cart.

Oh, if you have a hardmod, then it's no problem. Make sure you have a NAND backup stored safely and use FBI to install the update :) Easier and safer than going the downgrade + PBT-CFW route.

Oh, and use 3DNUS to download the update files. Just enter "9.2.0-20" in the Title ID box, pick your region and Old 3DS.
Make sure Pack as .CIA is checked and that "Change version numbers to" is unchecked.

Okay, I'll try it. Do I need to install every cia from 7.1 to 9.2?
Can I install "all cias at one click" with FBI?

Does it download every cia from 7.1 to 9.2? If so then probably yes.
    Edit: From the OP "
    • Install or delete all of the CIA files in a directory at once"

The Real Jdbye iirc you can't just update system titles with fbi; you must first uninstall and then reinstall the cia files. Well that was my experience anyways.

Oh I see. Well, there's a delete all function, he has a NAND mod so he should be fine.

That's assuming he doesn't have anything saved on system nand but that is an idea

    - the easiest method is boot into ninjax and install cia using fbi.
    - the safest is downgrade, install cia to emunand, extract emunand and restore it back to nand.
