What do you mean rxTools doesn't work? What's the full version number of your software?

You need to update your console with the game first (or to 9.0-9.2 with sysupdater). You can't extract a 6.X+ save with a 4.X 3ds. (unless you played it on 4.X from the start)

If you just want to backup the save, use you retail cart with the wifi off to update your console to 6.1.
