How do I record through the headphone jack? Do I just get a Male to Male cable and plug my 3ds to my PC?Why not just record the sound off your 3DS through the headphone jack, or through an emulator? It might not be a perfect digital copy, but does it really need to be?

It's possible the sound is synthesized and not stored directly as audio data, or it might be stored in some other format that is not immediately recognizable.Your best option is to get a dump of the game and extract the RomFS, then look through the audio files until you have what you want.
That thread is eight years old and there are much easier ways of accessing romfs now. (Braindump might not even work with current firmware or Luma.)
