just looking through the papers and i saw a 1.8 dualcore, 256 mb GFX card, 1GB ram and 15.4" screen for $999
is that good?

Umm post the actual graphics card. Just posting '' 256 mb gfx card '' doesn't help. Also is it Core 2 Duo? An X2 ? or what dude be specific you can be getting ripped off because we don't know the exact specs.

Try with Dell's Inspiron 1501 or 1521, you can get 1,8 dual core with a good graphic card and 1GB of RAM for a much lower price.
Wait, not a much lower. Forgot Euro kicks dollars' arse.
I got mine for about 690 euro, which I guess is nearly the same as 999 dollars. Anyway, you should take a look at those two models as I don't think there's such a difference when it comes to price, but you'll see it in the concerning to build quality.
