I dabbled in piano/keyboard and guitar when I was younger, but nothing really came of it. Some day I will get around to learning the guitar outright, but not at the present time.

And on youtube, look up docjazz4 and ferali. They're both talented ocarina-ists. But I've only recently gotten interested. I'll be getting the 12-hole Tenor from that same website if my parents allow it.

Polycarbonate = unbreakable FTW.

It's actually fairly common that people who are excellent at Guitar Hero can't play a real guitar, and vice versa. A lot of professional guitarists can't play GH for the life of them.

I play piano (self-taught as a child, boredom at your grandmother's house can work wonders), saxophone (alto, about 5 years of lessons), guitar (about a year of lessons), and bass (self-taught, plus what I learned taking guitar lessons). I mainly play bass though, it's what I enjoy the most.

I actually thought about buying an ocarina or a flute when my ex (who wasn't my ex at the time) dragged me to some little festival thing off in the middle of nowhere. In the end, I decided that $25 was just more than I was willing to pay to teach myself a new instrument.

This is very true. As a bassist, I can't play GH to save my life. I still do play it because it's fun, but the frets being so close together on the guitar controllers throws me off (even the frets on a real guitar are a noticeable adjustment from a bass).

I'm sure I'd be at least somewhat better at GH if I actually owned it because I'd play it more often, but everyone I know already has it so I fail to see the point.

Yeah, I went to see Helmet and it was a small place and the main guy was asking what songs we wanted to hear. Somehow he got on the subject of Guitar Hero and said that he sucked at it...and he can do some crazy shit with a real guitar
