or should i do that after it has the CFW?
if you have a hardmod, you can backup your SysNAND before running any kind of CFW.
If you do not have a hardmod and are on 9.0-9.2, you can run a CFW like minipasta then backup the NAND with Decrypt9
If you are above 9.2, you will need to downgrade to 9.2 first before you can backup your NAND with Decrypt9.
Like driverdis said, you currently cannot back up SysNand unless you downgrade. Downgrading is basically brick-free now, especially considering 10.7 is still the latest firmware update.
Be warned, though: If you are on 10.6 or higher and/or softbrick when downgrading and are forced to update to 10.7, you will not be able to downgrade again without a copy of Ocarina of Time, Cubic Ninja, or Sky3DS to emulate either of those two games.
thanks man now i got another issue. menuhax manager wont install. every time i install it gives me server issue
make sure your 3ds can connect to the internet properly and try running it again.
You gotta set up a connection in your sysNAND first, assuming you haven't made an emuNAND yet.
this is the step https://github.com/Plailect/Guide/wiki/Part-1-(Homebrew) that im having trouble. i can load the browserhax just fine but menuhax isnt working
yes i can connect to the net since i can access browserhax
i have connection to the net since i can access browserhax
you can use browserhax instead of menuhax for the steps, This will not cause any issues. just skip installing menuhax and use browserhax to load the homebrew menu when you need it.
ok thanks. so for part 2 do i copy plaisysupdater.cia too or just the 3ds folder? same for emunand do i copy all content or just the folder?
Read the guide, it tells you exactly what to do
Copy and merge the 3ds folder from the PlaiSysUpdater zip to root of your SD card
copy just the 3ds folder, the CIA is not needed for part 2
the best way to follow the guide is to do exactly as it says to do, do not overthink and do not assume anything.
If you do that, you will have a very high chance of success getting your OTP and installing A9LH.
which guide is that? sorry im confused since im already following the guide. I also noticed that when im in browserhax my wifi signal icon has a red x
you are following the correct guide, which is the one by @Plailect
I love how we just refer it to "the guide" now. Like nothing else needs to be said. We all know which one it is.
Thanks. now my next problem is the plaisysupdater. its always stuck at "hax init..." i have done this over and over like 10 times already. is this really a common behavior?
yea, it is common. some people have better success if they launch FTBrony first, exit it by pressing B, then launching PlaiSysUpdater.
is there a way to enable wifi when the browserhax is launched? i checked the wifi icon on the upper left and it has an X mark. cant exit ftbrony since it says i dont have wifi.
launch FTBrony then Force close it with L+R+B+Down. Afterward, launch Plaisysupdater.
still nothing. im still stuck at hax init... is this really a freeze or do i need to wait? is this like an in progress? what are signs that it is installing the update?
You may be one of those people who unfortunately has a console that refuses to init hax and most people with this problem had to format SysNAND (use tiny format 3dsx) to get the downgrade to either start or to finish properly.
