No offense to the OP, but I personally feel like if your going to be in the homebrew scene, you need to do this kind of stuff yourself, yes it can be daunting, yes it takes a long time, but at the end of the day you learn a lot, and you gain a huge amount of appreciation for the coders who make it all possible in the first place. Not to mention if you have questions you will understand people's answers much better if you know the terms that are being used.

As long as you have a backup you can restore. If you try to downgrade from 10.6 without a backup and get a fail during the native firm, you're screwed. You cannot make a backup of anything at 9.3 or above via software.

Without any user error the only thing that would cause a brick would have to be something like a faulty or worn out SD card that can't properly be read or somehow your battery runs out during flashing to sysnand which can totally be avoided by leaving it plugged in the whole time.

Having a bad SD card can be somewhat common since they tend to wear out if you keep copying a ton of files to them.

This is good to know, my sd card is very high quality, hasn't failed me once. Question though, does this process involve copying all my files on my sd card to my PC or anything like that? I ask because I have over 100GB of data on my SD card, and my PC at this time doesn't have 100GB free, plus copying that much data could take quite a while. I'm not even sure if copying the data even happens, but I thought I saw someone mention that, and i just wanted to know if that was part of it or not.
