Yea... apparantly the boxart for Okami wii has a watermark from IGN on it, like how imagine babies had iStock watermark. The blunder is also on the printed media, which i find hilarious.

To elaborate a bit more for the confused people, the designer for capcom, who was in charge of Okami wii's boxart used an image they got from IGN's website. It would seem they couldn't find any other high resolution image for a backdrop of the boxart. And also evidently forgot to edit the watermark out of the final draft of the cover.

Added an overlay of the original image watermark onto it.

    They used this:

My guess is that they just got lazy and instead of finding the original material they just kinda stole back the one they gave to IGN. Stupid how they left the stupid watermark in there.

Because someone is being paid in a professional job to create this boxart, only to be so lazy as to use an image with a watermark on it.

It's true, the box art does in fact have that watermark (I checked my copy). It's not noticeable though, and doesn't effect the immense quality of the game, so it doesn't matter to me in the least. In fact, I'm much more annoyed by the fact that the cover has a red circle with a review score in it. That's much more jarring.

im a graphic designer and i really cant believe that something like this
its happening... not even if the image was taken from ign this is a
very very serious mistake for the designer and capcom.

i love that game but for stuff like this or the katamari downloads on xbox live
its what makes me feel that japanesse developers are too cocky to look at
his american releases and the american gamer market overall.

look at miyamoto saying that he didnt knew ratchet and clank when someone
refered to the game for its spherical worlds like in mario galaxy.

look at the broken no more heroes when trying to emulate gta´s open world.
look at square talking about middleware as new stuff when americans and europeans have
    decades doing it.

when i play something like valve´s portal or 2k´s Bioshock
somehow feels more fresh than any great japanese game.

[IMG] At least the game itself isn't showing signs of laziness.. i.e. game ending bugs/crashes. 10 hours in here and it's been a real treat.
