Question If we tag somebody who isn't a patron in this forum, will they get notified?

The title pretty much conveys it all.

I was just curious, as I need to update the General Welcome/Info thread, and am wanting to tag those who won in the bounty. However, as Voxel is the only person there who is a winner AND a patron, I feel nervous about tagging the rest. Any and all answers are greatly appreciated.

I assume that the moderators and/or admins will be able to answer my question the best, so I will hold off on updating until I hear from them.

Edit: you could also put Voxels usernumber and name between [usеr=] [/usеr] tags.
That prevents him from getting a notification yet you do link his profile to it.

Most probably he will get a notification, but when he clicks the link it will say "You have no permission to see this shit", so he won't know what this was about and we will never know he even got that notification.

It will leave a red notification on his profile for eons and eons and he will never know what the alert means. Is it a secret message? Is it vital information? He will ponder this eternally.

If it's anything like the magstaff forum, they won't get a notification. Even if they do somehow, it'll probably just redirect to an error page.
