Like the MMD and the GNM?
Ill probably get both.
I'm sorry, wut?
Like flash carts becoming illegal. They are in the UK now, soon to be in canada. US is going to happen soon after. As long as they make purchasing and not owning illegal ill be fine.
The first post doesnt have much info to it because I actually wrote abunch of shit then deleted it. No one actually reads a wall of text in the testing section.
I'll hide 'em if I need to.
LOL. wow, so now the r4 is illegial, and ur shitting ur pants? son, u've been breakin the law this whole time. they've just made things a little more specific now. if ur playing ur ds and see a cop, just scream and start running xD
Also who thinks I should hard wire in a supercard/r4 into a DS brick and case mod the whole thing to make it into a small arcade cabby?
Already got one.
The R4 isnt illegal, running ds games on it is. If they make the actual thing illegal to pwn and purchase then who would buy the datel shit for movies, music and homebrew? Im not asking you for some gibberish.
Has always been illegal.
ACTUALLY the r4 is illegal in Canada now.
I know running games on it is I already said that.
ADDITION I is not in canada.
Then companies should sell a flashcart that only runs homebrew, then "leak" a firmware that runs ROMs. Simple!
Datel did that already, with the Max Media Player.
I've heard nothing for a couple of months about the proposed changes to the Canada Copyright Act. I'm thinking we may be in the clear for the time being. Talk such as this is a little premature.
Will I buy the Datel stuff? No. Too limited and does not serve the function I want it to.
Since when has a bunch of software pirates and hackers ever given a crap about the laws surrounding their fun anyway?
If flashcarts become completely illegal, then it will just go underground again and not be so mainstream like it is now, that's all.
Piracy and the hardware required to sustain it isn't going to just stop simply because some corporation (or group of corporations) says, "Stop it!" The hackers will just switch tactics to compensate like they've been doing for years now.
In fact, the FASTEST way for Ninty to squelch piracy on the DS is to cancel production of the DS and move on to the next system. That will give them a good year or two at best to suck up more profits (on the new system) before the vicious-circle starts again and piracy becomes rampant on the new system.
When hardware becomes illegal it becomes difficult to obtain and people will end up jacking up the prices.
Yes please. This would be a great thing. Piracy is just waaaaay too mainstream and easy these days. I yearn for the days of "Want wares : Call (XXX) - BE-SMARTER" again.
When I was young and started getting stuff for free it was really about going to friends and making copies, now everything is on the internet or torrents. Later on down the road I was getting stuff on the internet but getting downloads from forums and sites like this. I stopped doing torrents a while back.
