Hacking If I hack my Wii U with the SSBB method, can I still update?

Can I still update the Wii U System or Wii U Games when needed? Because if I can't, I won't bother hacking the Wii U.

Updates seem crucial to the Wii U, as it adds more features to it, makes loading times faster, fixes bugs, etc.

Thus far, installing homebrew / custom ISOs / modified ISOs on the vWii have not affected Wii U updates.

Yes, since it's only for Wii/vWii and so far no WiiU mode hacks, to my knowledge, have been released.
