why? how 's Buddism? are you allowed to eat meat and drink alcohol?
Yes, buddhists can do that stuff. Now you may be thinking about how some hindus don't eat meat. Are you thinking of Hinduism perhaps?

the Buddism is from india, but weird thing is general you hardly find indian population who are Buddism instead almost all of them are into Hindu, anyway Hindu is strong against beef consumption, that mean you are NOT ALLOWED TO go to you local McDonald's and order BIG MAC, are you OK with that?

just like how christianity is from the middle east, but you don't find it there much either. Religions spread and die out in certain places. I mean isn't it crazy there are more Jewish people in the US than Israel?

Anyhow, they have chicken bigmacs in India.

I think I would become a "spinning topist".

In case the video wouldn't be available in your country, or the automatic subtitles wouldn't mean anything (more likely to happen), it's the same idea of letting a flipping coin deciding about your destiny, but with a spinning top. :grog:

Old Norse Gods. Pretty much the only religion that inspires heavy metal music instead of demonizing it. Call me a sinner all you like, I'm sinning to a bitchin' soundtrack and frankly that's all that matters. Also the Valkyries, a legion of hot badass women warriors. And Valhalla, one massive party with meat and beer.

There are only so many times you can have a White Russian before it gets boring, or indeed you stop abiding.

Islam cause I'm from a Muslim family, and it's the only religion I know anything about
Whole internet out there and most of them put broad synopsis of things out there for all to see if you want.

Seen some pretty decent ancient Japanese gods takes on heavy metal (and if the stories themselves are not ripe for it then we must have been reading different things), sadly I don't have many names here (mostly watched them where they had Japanese names. Can start with Metalucifer if you want though, even if they are more general heavy metal). Personally I like the Japanese folk done with electrical instruments thing more but play it how you will.

Roman has some good stuff

in addition to all the fun Latin stuff, though I suppose that is more medieval for most of them. Still good though

Old norse is also not all of paganism and old folk which provides a decent chunk of things there -- Finland, Estonia*, Germany (debatable as to where this falls under Norse vs not -- most would have that Wodan was Odin by any other name. Though there are still options** ), various flavours of ancient Britain (loads here but can start with the originators in Skyclad if you want), Russian paganism is a fun one***, there are some truly ancient ones that are not Norse at all, very eastern Europe has some increasingly doing things. Seen a few French, few Dutch, few Hungarian, less Spanish but some are trying. Plus whatever it is that Brazil does.

*

The cartoon in the background there being what is arguably the Estonian national epic.
**Probably not quite metal compared to some of their other stuff but for a starter

***

Anyway this is not folk metal/pagan metal music appreciation thread. Just mostly here to say there is way more to things than just vikings, though they do have some good stuff.

I like your choice, but we all know this to be the one true religion:

I haven't been gaming for such a long time. Been mostly busy with sleep, hardware tinkering and checking GBAtemp frequently.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Hope you've had a good morning.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
It's going alright thanks :) I know what you mean with gaming time. It's precious where I can get it these days.

I think that's why I focus on just enjoying single player experiences that aren't too competitive

    How are you doing?
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
There's also this thing where I'm hyperfocused at night and cannot get to sleep.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    @Maximumbeans, I'm doing alright, thanks.

That must be rough. Productive I'm sure but hard to balance with daily life

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Man, that's beyond my brain  I'm no good with hardware for now. I'd like to get into hardmods in future though
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Sounds good. I actually did soldering but like 16 years ago for school so uuuuh probably rusty haha
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Same here. I did soldering at school from a teacher who I honestly liked since he had plenty of good electronics experience.

@Maximumbeans, I had a friend who had a glass chess set for their birthday.

It was like all clear and fancy. Tbf I'm not too experienced with chess, but would like to learn someday.
