I also don't understand why demos aren't allowed to be downloaded here. They aren't illegal as they aren't commercial games and are free to download.

They are illegal, even if a title is not available commercially it still has a legal copyright holder. Just because a company allows you to access something for a short amount of time for free does not mean you have the rights to own a copy of it yourself, distribute it or host it for others to download.

Back on topic; I came here looking for an emulator to make it easier to find a particular old savefile in a pile of incremental backups, hopefully this'll do the job
