Has anyone created this or developing anything like this? Thought it would be easier to transfer files between 3DS and ftp webserver easier when only using the 3DS. Iv'e attached a picture of the concept.

FTPony, FTProny, and FTP-3DS. Take your pick. Though, if you still want to develop your own, have at it. I'm not going to discourage you.

That's true. It would require a full interface and some extra work to have a decent client. A server is a bit simpler, though it wouldn't hurt to have the option for those that want a client instead. Good luck.

Im still learning to code and hope to develop it. Can anyone point me to a direction of how to make it run on 3DS.

Actually I use filezilla with ftpbrony and ftppony constantly. It works perfectly.
Edit: ah I see what you're saying. Essentially what we have now but instead of sending the files from the computer it would all be controlled by the 3ds. That would be simply amazing, hopefully someone will jump on this.

It shouldn't be too difficult to make one with a basic GUI, there are probably plenty of FTP libraries for C/C++ that would compile without too many 3DS-specific changes, it's not a particularly advanced protocol. Of course the more features you want, the more complicated the GUI would need to be.
There was a FTP client (and a couple of servers) for the DS, I'm not sure if it's open source or not, but if it is then it should be relatively easy to port it to the 3DS. It was pretty buggy though.

What 3DS model are you using? New or Old? If you're on New, just use the MicroSD Management feature in the Data Management settings on the Settings app. I've had issues with FTP, honestly, and USB SD Readers shouldn't be too expensive if you're using an O3DS.

I wish I could say FTP clients for the 3DS are stable, but when transferring several files, it tends to mess up with saves mostly.

Is that better than ftbrony? I'm using that and everytime I try to copy themes/save files, it tends to mess up when there are too many files.
I was posting about the client, not the server. I'm just using FTP-3DS, before that I was using FTbrony. I haven't had issues with either. I'd try different clients and make sure there's no wireless interference, if you're having issues. The connection I'm using I have setup with shortslot override, short preamble, bluetooth coexistance, Frame Burst (only two wireless devices connect to this AP), and is on the a seperate channel from the rest of the wireless stuff around here.
