ROM Hack Icon .png of any use?

well, a very noob question...
some roms have a .png file which is the icon of the game
I was wondering if it had any use (for some cards or homebrew) or just for show (so totally no use at all)

pretty much

sites like GBAtemp can use them for their release lists so they're nice to some people =P


the .pngs are extracted/converted out of the rom into an image. your DS will use the one in the rom

You don't really need them, they're in the ROM already. If you really needed to, you could just use a program such as Rominator to extract the icons from the ROMs.

Just throw them away. They're pretty much useless except for organizing reasons (like the release list on GBAtemp)
