    ICANN approves .XXX domain.
    TLD for adult entertainment
    [IMG]

ICANN, the entity that controls domain names for the internet, has today allowed the creation of the XXX sTLD (Sponsored Top-Level Domain). This means that there can now be websites which end in .xxx. This was created because of the absolutely fucking gigantic adult entertainment (movies with boobies) industry. When polled for their thoughts about this, the entire internet said "Porn is good", except for the prudes.[/p]

Shouldn't this be in User Submitted News?
This is clearly a very important bit of information!
Will all my favorite porn sites be changing their addresses to .xxx?
Will I need to update all those bookmarks?
Will a .xxx domain cost more? I'm very concerned about how this will effect my favorite amateur porn starlets.

No kidding, this should actually have been in the USN. After all, this is real news.

See, if I had put it in USN people might have wanted it to go on the front page... with it here there's no doubt that this is not something that goes on GBAtemp's front page.

From what I see it'll be about $60-$70 a year per domain.

Hmm- not sure is a great thing from a domain squatters perspective and possibly from a censorship perspective but if it serves to wind up some of the prudish types I guess I can learn to live with it.

Bout damn time! [IMG] -then again it will suck for the teenies who think they're slick when surfing for pron on their computers. Oh well, it's great for parents who actually care about doing their jobs as parents. This is #WINNING

Because all porn (never mind the very broad definition of such things and delving into fetishes that do not necessarily involve nudity or indeed some debate as to whether porn is worth blocking) will immediately up and migrate to .xxx?
