MODS PLEASE CLOSE THIS TOPIC. K? Thx
3-8 weeks is a gross underestimate, unless you're talking about doing the menus only.
It's even harder to decide which to translate, given the sheer number of DS games deserving it.
I really hope that they stop doing it, it is getting annoying. But they might still continue
How about instead of bitching about it just ignore it like many users do.
@ OP: yo! can u translate pokemans for me?!
wait.... so if we cant request a translation, why is there a sticky on a thread that shows u how to request a translation???
Oh lawd contradictionz!
I mean, yeah, there are quite a few topics coming up lately. And most of them don't pick up (even though some games deserve it and I wish my Japanese was better so I could understand them without problems), but...
Bitching won't really get you anywhere. Just ignore the thread. Seriously, how hard can it be?
There is no reason to create a new topic in order to flame.Moderators close all unneeded translation requests.
the only problem of the requests that I find annoying is that they kinda push away the actual projects to page 2 or 3, and they are constantly being bumped. I just had a hard time trying to find our Ys DS project thread today o.O
I don't think it's ever possible to stop people and/or noobs from requesting. Just look at romhacking.net, it's explicitly forbidden to request other than in the request topic, yet every once in a while a noob pops up and requests something.
lol at that, where did you base that off?
5-10 weeks roughly???
well unless a translator translate ALL the files in a week, ALL the graphics in another, and probably a romhacker works like 5 hours a day with a tool that lets you insert text VERY easily and lets you edit graphics VERY easily, probably not.
and this thread gonna make that even harder. Oh, NOooooooOoooooo!
What kind of games are you translating?
I would love to work on one of these fabled 5-10 week games.
probably a puzzle game with no graphics, and supports single byte ascii from the start with enough extra 00s for extra space without needing to re calculate the pointers, with barely any text with no compression.
did I forget something?
Yes. it's already in english too.
