I want to format my 3ds after system tranfser (for downgrade) to have different friend code.

    my question is, if i sysnand backup and restore after format, will i still have the saves? tyvm

    first install a9lh and luma 3ds and then format it with tinyformat

    No. If you format, you'll lose the saves. If you restore it, it'll be as if you never formatted in the first place.

    so it is safe to backup using hourglass9 then format and then restore using hourglass9 again right?

    Yes, but if you do that your friend code won't change.

    I believe you can manually backup, then format, then dump the friend save and restore the NAND backup, then restore the dumped friend save.

    Just only use JK Save Manager and make backup of all .cia games installed.

    Sure, but that's not the same. Though, JKSM can back them up all at the same time, correct?

    No Man, JK saver manager makes individual backup per game. Then just reinstall it .cia JK's and reinserting the Saves the games again. The only job he will be to reinstall all the games that he has and the reinseir saves using Jk's.

    I thought JKSM had an option to back up all saves?

    And if it is manual, it takes way more time and effort than it is worth.

    No. You have to do it individually. But it is a practical and little tortuous solution.

    Frankly, at that point, backing up the friend save and doing it the other way seems less of a hassle.
