Hacking I tried to downgrade my New 3DS XL.

Hi gbatemp users, so i tried to downgrade my n3ds from 10.3 to 9.2 but when i successfully install all the cia's files and when reboot it shows the following error "An error has ocurred. Hold down the power button." and i put out the SD card and turn on but it still showing that error. So i went to recovery mode holding L+R+UP(DPAD)+A and update. I can't format the console going to system settings because my console is banned i get the error 005-5964 if i try to format. Any suggestions?

PD: Is there a way to factory reset without the official format system?

Sounds like you have a full brick. If the recovery mode code is t working, you're screwed. Well, unless you made a nand backup with a hard mod..

Do that then. If it keeps softbricking you might have to format with https://github.com/javimadgit/TinyFormat/releases

Also, is your console permanently banned or did you just get banned from using a Sky3DS online with public headers? Those bans are temporary.

Its a full ban, a friend buy me games with a "method" and i got banned....

it just formats without contacting Nintendo if you have an NNID.

yes, it formats almost the same way as if you were to just go to System Settings, with the exception of not unlinking your NNID and not deleting anything from the SD card

I can smell the beans on that ban , but yeah , just use tiny format as posted above, many people (including me ) had a successful downgrade at the first try after formating
