Veho, I once magneted a friend's monitor when I was younger to show him how cool it was.
Then I found out his monitor had no degauss.

I had a problem with my monitor as well ( a 22" HP w2207h ).
I was recommended by somebody to turn down the brightness because the default one was too bright and would hurt my eyes, so I did.
But by turning it down about 50%, my eyes were actually struggling to read web pages, and I was getting tired and full of headache in a matter of half an hour, let alone long playing session at Bioshok 2 !
So one day I decided to turn it up again, and my eyes stop to hurt almost immediately, as the improved contrast ( especially the familiar black text on white background ) was somehow easier on my eyes.
I suspect that in the long run it wouldn't be very healthy for my eyes, but hey, a lot of things in life aren't healty but we can't leave without it !

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons. -

Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.

@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.+1

Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.
