...it's just another version of the DS but with 3D. Like it doesn't have newer features but rather it can only play normal DS games that can be turned into 3D.

Well, this is the general consensus that I got from people when I told them I was getting a 3DS. I think Nintendo needs more advertising >__>

On-Topic: In my honest opinion, I do think that 3DS has more improvement than it's previous successor. 3D + graphically better than DS/i. I don't think its just another version of DS with 3D at all.

They pretty much added 3D and improved all the specs of the DSi/XL (Besides screen size), so faster processor, nicer looking screens, etc. If this doesn't interest you, don't buy one.

That's what they seem to be advertising, too.

"Many features of the 3DS are similar to the DSi." They aren't making a big line dividing the 3DS and the DS, like they did with the GBA and the DS.

Didn't stop it from selling better then any other handheld in history in Japan....

Besides...Once Nintendo brings out its first party support and people see that its ONLY for the 3ds....they will realize its a next gen console and not just a revision

I didn't say that it didn't interest me. In fact I preordered mine yesterday.

    Read what I typed again.

I wouldn't worry. When people see their friends playing it and witness how awesome it is, they'll want it. It may take a while for the truth of the 3DS's pwn-ishness to spread, but early-adopter fanboys like us will keep it sold out in the meantime. [IMG]

They picked the name based on the reaction at the time which was "that's an awesome name!", they knew it could be misconstrued.
    I still like it.
Only silly folk think 3ds is just ds+3d screen.

Naw they just need to start advertising the system and it's games more publicly (TV and elsewheres). Once people see what amazing software we are getting for the 3DS they will realize how epic it is. I predict we'll be seeing this real soon well seeing as the 3DS launches in a matter of a few weeks.

What we should actually do is down the 3DS until we actually own it! lol
Short lines = Quicker to get our hands on it!

Even tho most of us preordered...

why say its just a DS with 3d?
its is technically a DS but not just the DS, or DSi. we know what those are.
i wouldnt just say its just a DS with 3D. why?
well its kinda like saying the ps3 is just a ps2. & the wii is just the gamecube but with motion.
we all know theres more to the ps3 & wii then there last gen counterparts. graohics, the home menus, the ability to play classic games, ect.
and thats same for 3Ds not only 3D but also graphics, 3d camera, RAM/CPU power are increased.
    i consider 3DS as DS3, with DSi being DS2.

Yeah well, those silly folk are almost everyone I tell about the 3DS.

Anyways, in design and name, it's very much like the DS, but in everything else, it's different. It adds a 3D screen, more controls, improved wireless communications, improved specs, improved OS, etc.

If anything, I blame the multiple iterations of the DS for the confusion now. Just because it has the DS in the name does not mean it's another DS.

They'll learn by Christmas what it can do.
Don't worry about OUR NINTENDO. They'll be fine.

Someone I know said the PSP is better because it has "better graphics" [IMG]

But I'm glad because that's one less person in line on launch day! [IMG]

Pretty sure this is what my mum originally thought the device was. Those who care know better though.

It'll still sell well, they always do. Plus, once people see they can only play certain games on it they will upgrade if they care enough.
