Hacking I think my Wiikey is dying.

So I have a PAL Wii with Wiikey 1.9s, firmware 3.2E. For the last few weaks my Wii keeps giving me random disc read error when playing with backups. I've tried different discs, different burn speeds and even different burners, and still no luck. I'm using the latest NeoGamma to launch the games(the games that need NeoGamma to launch at least). I would like to rephrase that these random disc read errors only pop when playing backups, with retail discs everything is fine.
What could be the problem?

I'm pretty sure that your wii's disk drive's laser is going kaput.

try the wii lens cleaner first it fixed my random DRE problems

yeah as Bumpman said you laser might be dying.

it can read legit disc fine since its a legit disc with its quality intact. My ps2 also have trouble with some backups but can read legit disk fine even though it has scraches.

you might want to burn them again, some backups fails when due time.

or might want to swicth to usb loading

Also consider buying more expensive DVD-R's. The difference in quality is noticable.
