    http://lcn.canoe.ca/lcn/infos/faitsdivers/...416-144016.html (sorry, it's in French)

We were at school, 4th floor (French Class), me and 2 of my friends. They both had to redo their French exam, and we had a History exam right after. The library was closed to I had to join them in French class. So I was studying, they were writing. I was seated right next to the window. Then I notice that outside, maybe 3-4 houses away, there was a small fire on the balcony. We took the French teacher's phone and called 911 to report it. Shortly after the call, the firefighters step in. We move into History class. The fire was HUGE, everywhere on the roof, and lots of people watching. It engulfed the whole roof and rooms right after, we noticed some walls collapse. Near 100 people were evacuated.

I feel proud of myself cause if it wasn't for us seeing it then it might of taken longer. We were the first to call 911 and report the incident.

You can watch a short video, also in French, showing the fire here: http://lcn.canoe.ca/cgi-bin/player/video.c...0416_landry.wmv

Meh it was okay, I didn't have much time to study since we have like 3 other projects on our hands, but I'm pretty sure it went well.

Well done. When I see a fire I just flail around aimlessly not knowing what to do. [IMG]

Congratz, though there's a good chance other people called before and after you; making the FD act faster. Team effort, remember, there's no 'I' in 'team'. [IMG]

Maybe, I don't think so tho, because it was on the side of the building that you can't see on any roads, and when we looked outside there was no soul spectating. Even if they did call before me, I don't care [IMG]

Congratulations, did they mention your name in the news? I'm sure the title would be.

Unfortunately, no, they didn't mention ANY reports of 911 calls.

    I usually videotape it.
Anything bad happens and I'm usually one of the first there.

    Great going Salamance!
