Try to put the battery of your motherboard out (i think used for the bios) and then try turning on your pc.

Yeah, I think the problem lies with the battery as well.
I can't think of anything else.

Not sure if you can start it up without it though...
Might just have to get it replaced.

Take the watch battery out and wait 5s then put it back in and restart. Doing this resets all the settings in the Bios to their factory defaults. Some motherboards have a Jumper that does the same thing you would have to look in the motherboard/computer manual to locate it.

You wont loose any data if you remove the battery. As it's a prebuilt system the only thing you should need to set is the clock when the computer has turned back on.

If it's POSTing (i.e. you're getting a BIOS screen), you're almost always in the clear as far as the most important components - motherboard/CPU - go. It might be hanging as it's trying to detect one of your hard drives but failing (as the drive in question isn't working properly) - try unplugging all of your disk devices and see if you get past the BIOS screen. If you do, then there's the problem - send the drive back to the manufacturer.

personally, i think you fucked up most of your ram in that blue screen error: data goes from dvd, decripts, goes ram, goes external HDD, but it didn't go to external HDD cuz of some erros, so prolly you got some 80% of your ram jammed with crap.
it may sound stupid, but ram problems happened to me quite some times.
get that ubuntu cd, and try to do a memory test, if you cant, just remove the RAM boards, switch them, put only one, etc.
thats what i'd do.

I got it working again, but not very well. It is currently in safe mode.. I am transfering all files to my Ext. HDD.. I am preparing to do a clean install of sweet, sweet XP.
I could try to repair vista, but, even after 6 months of vista, id rather have XP.
Its cool that im losing vista ultimate because i only paid 20$ for the upgrade DVD and product code. (yes it was legal, but im going to leave you wondering how i did it)

Look on the motherboard, near the CMOS battery. (aforementioned watch battery) There should be three pins with one jumper, it should say JCMOS, Normal, and Clear.
Using pliers (or fingers if you can,) move that jumper to the position it is in (pins 1 and 2, respectively) to the other position (pins 2 and 3) for about a second, then move it back.
This clears the BIOS settings, which seems to be the problem you are having.

This also means that clock speeds are changed, so please write them down before doing this! Otherwise, there will be an incredible loss of system instability if the default settings are different than what the stable settings are.
