I got an American New 3DS non-XL and tried to hardmod it because it came with 11.0. After I put the system back together, the charge light works, but when I press the power button, nothing happens, not even for a split second.

I double and triple checked all the connectors, so I have no idea what I messed up.

Right, but you can do that with any firmware as a starting point. Hardmodding should be a last-ditch resort if everything else went wrong.

You cannot downgrade without using a DsiWare Hax or a hardmod. Since Nintendo have patched arm9 exploits that allows sysupdater to downgrade the 3ds as well blocking almost all homebrew entrypoints.

Plus op cannot access the 3ds by turning it on so now hardmodding the last chance to save the 3ds

perhaps a blown fuse? i dont know what fuses a 3DS might have.

With him saying that he performed a hardmod, there may have been mistake and the op may have fried his 3ds by touching the circuits with the soldering iron

If he shows us the picture, we may be able to help him resolve this.

No, your not understanding the tutorial at all evidently.

If you're on 11.0 you have to downgrade to 9.2, the only way this can be done is via hardmod or DSIwarehax, there is no way around it. Read the tutorial.....

To OP is there a popping sound? Take photos of the side of the board with all ribbons hooked up, take a photo of your soldering as well.

You could of killed the board with those burn marks but is there data going to the 3ds does it work without the mod?

One of the sites that weren't blocked on the school's network was some file uploading sites. I would upload some games, write down the URL and take it to school one day.

It was easy to bypass some of the restrictions, as one of the admins left a registry key in the administrative shares drive, which allowed me to get around the blocking of some sites.
